Challenges I Work With:

Understanding Anxiety, Depression, and Stress

Life’s challenges — whether rooted in personal struggles, work, relationships, or societal pressures — can often manifest as anxiety, depression, and stress. These emotional and psychological states can feel overwhelming, isolating, and exhausting. Anxiety might make you feel on edge, fearful, or stuck in a cycle of worry. Depression can drain your energy, cloud your thoughts, and dampen your joy. Stress, whether acute or chronic, can create a constant sense of pressure, leaving you feeling burnt out or disconnected from your own needs and desires.

It’s important to recognize that these experiences are not reflections of your worth or character but are normal human responses to difficult circumstances. You don’t have to navigate these challenges alone, and therapy can offer the support, tools, and insight needed to reclaim balance and peace.

How We Work Together

In our sessions, I offer a compassionate and collaborative space where we can explore the root causes of your anxiety, depression, or stress. My approach is informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS) and ego states therapy, parts-based models that recognize the various “parts” of you — such as the worried part, the overwhelmed part, or the self-critical part — that may be trying to protect or manage your experience. Together, we’ll develop a deeper understanding of these parts, their intentions, and how they interact, allowing for greater self-compassion and integration.

Because our emotions and stress responses live not just in the mind but also in the body, we’ll also incorporate somatic approaches to help you reconnect with your physical self. Using techniques informed by polyvagal theory and sensorimotor therapy, we’ll work on cultivating safety and regulation in your nervous system. This might involve noticing sensations, practicing grounding techniques, or using gentle movements to release stored tension and build resilience.

Our work may focus on:

  • Building Internal Awareness and Connection: By exploring the intentions and needs of different parts of yourself, we’ll create a more harmonious inner experience and reduce internal conflict.
  • Regulating Your Nervous System: We’ll use body-centered approaches to calm states of hyperarousal (such as worry or panic) and address hypoarousal (such as feelings of numbness or fatigue).
  • Developing Tools for Resilience: From grounding exercises to mindfulness and somatic awareness, we’ll build a toolkit for managing distressing emotions and fostering emotional safety.
  • Fostering Self-Compassion: You’ll learn to approach your experiences, including the challenging ones, with curiosity and care rather than judgment.

This process helps create a deeper connection between your mind, body, and emotions, supporting not only relief from immediate challenges but also sustainable, long-term healing.

Your Unique Needs

While this is an overview of my approach, each person’s treatment plan is tailored to their unique needs, goals, and circumstances. Therapy is a deeply personal process, and no two journeys are the same. If you’re interested in learning more about how I can support you, I invite you to schedule a consultation call. During this call, we’ll discuss your goals, explore your needs, and determine if we’re the right fit to work together.
